The seminary added a contemporary, urban seven-story, 157-bed student residence hall on the campus at Dallas Theological Seminary. The 117,493 sf building is a concrete cast in-place structure with brick/cast stone and glass curtain wall exterior. The sixth-story contains an outdoor courtyard with landscaping and hardscaping. The fourth-story has an interior basketball court. A swimming pool and courtyard are located on the first level.
The residence hall is pursing LEED certification.
- Close proximity to DART lines allowing for reduced parking area
- According to a recent commissioning test, this building is 33% more energy efficient than a similar residence hall on campus that was completed in 2002.
- No additional cost spent on LEED® elements that did not reduce maintenance or improve energy efficiency
- Video monitoring system describing the benefits of a LEED® building as an educational tool (innovation credit)
- Used two electric traction elevator systems in lieu of hydraulic elevator system that eliminated use of petroleum based products and potential for soil contamination
