The new 40,000 sf academic building consists of a structural steel frame with a combination of masonry, stucco and curtain wall skin to fit within the context of the existing architecture on campus. It will become the newest academic building constructed on campus in the last 20 years. The program elements will include eight science laboratories, classrooms, faculty office spaces, student services area, related support spaces and site improvements. The design will incorporate many sustainable features to improve energy efficiency.
The building will be constructed in heart of the campus and will require utility relocations and tie-ins to existing systems. An extensive site logistics plan will be crafted to keep adjacent buildings fully-operational while maintaining student and staff safety throughout the duration of construction.
